Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

In partnership with parents and the greater community, the mission of Euro Academy is to provide an exemplary early childhood education program and to cultivate joyful, healthy, creative, compassionate, and independent children who build a well-balanced world for themselves and for others.

Euro Academy is Committed...

to creating a high quality, creative, and dynamic early childhood educational program as we strive to be a unique place where young children, teachers, and families collaborate and support each other and experience a sense of connection and joy throughout their learning journey.

The philosophy of Euro Academy is based on Developmentally Appropriate Practice set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children for quality early childhood programs. At Euro Academy, we incorporate what we know to be the best of developmental and progressive early childhood educational practices; this includes a combination of Montessori education, Gardener’s theory of Multiple Intelligences, and, mostly, the world-class Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. The Reggio Emilia approach has influenced our philosophy, goals, and relationships with families and the community, and greatly impacts our value of the child.

We believe that children are strong, powerful, and rich in potential, competent protagonists of the learning process driven by the power of a strong desire to learn and grow. We believe that children construct knowledge through active play, exploration, experimentation, rich experiences and modeling as well as through meaningful relationships with peers, teachers and most importantly you, parents! Lastly, we believe that a holistic approach not only identifies the strong bond between all developmental domains, but also recognizes that everybody involved is part of the learning process.

Jana believes that young children learn best through hands-on experiences and play and that creativity, imagination, and exploration are critically important in young children’s lives. Her conviction stems from being influenced by the world’s renowned Reggio Emilia Approach, which she had a chance to observe and practice while living in Italy for several years. Jana finds tremendous joy in watching young children explore, investigate, learn and grow.
